Educating

In the Western Cape, about 17.5% of children suffer from stunting – a condition that affects a child’s growth and physical development when they’re very young. This often happens because of factors like not eating good healthy food and or not having enough information about breastfeeding practices.
The first 1000 days of a child's life are crucial for their long-term growth, as nearly 90% of their brain develops by the age of five. These early years significantly shape their future as an adult.
That's why The Zoe Project strongly focuses on the first 1000 days of life in our antenatal, and mother-and-baby classes. We teach moms about proper feeding techniques, health, hygiene and infant care.
Our main goal is to tackle stunting and malnutrition in our local communities, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2), aimed at eliminating hunger in South Africa.
