Our Approach

We envision a world where all women have the opportunity to enter motherhood and not only survive but thrive.

We work to achieve quality, respectful and equitable maternity care for all by providing education and nurturing and empowering women. We help deliver babies, counsel women and girls through trauma and provide essentials in their time of need.

The Zoe Project’s mission is to make pregnancy and childbirth safe, equitable and respectful for every mother, everywhere.

Women-Centred

We work with women the world forgets — survivors of
poverty and challenging health conditions.

The Zoe Project helps moms deal with tough situations during
their pregnancy. We offer counselling, information,
education, and essential resources.

Our work also involves empowering women and young people, teaching them about relationships, sexual health, their rights, and how to be confident and valuable members of their communities.

Poverty and the vulnerable women, girls and newborns- we meet them where they are. Women are often left without basic resources like food, maternity pads and clean environment.

The Zoe Project helps moms deal with tough situations during their pregnancy by offering counselling, information, education and essential resources. Using empowerment, education and a nurturing approach. We invest in women’s skills, connections, and resources to build their families and communities together.

Holistic Approach

Our approach is built on listening and learning, as well as rigorous attention to detail and immersion of being in the areas and hospitals.

It starts the moment we work with a mother and her newborn. Together with local doulas / birth companions and volunteers, we create a learning environment to educate, nurture and empower.

We give hope and love….education and essential resources.

Our work also involves empowering women and young people, teaching them about relationships, sexual health, their rights and how to be confident and valuable members of their communities.

Locally Taught

We are proud that many of our volunteers are from the same communities as the women we serve and are respected as local leaders. We are also excited to work with volunteers from around the world.

They are knowledgeable about the challenges women face as well as the opportunities to make real and lasting change. We collaborate to develop programs that meet the unique context of every community and woman to help both become empowered women.

As women and teens go through the classes and clinics , their self-confidence, voice and power grow: They have The Zoe Project Doulas, Counsellors and volunteers to help them every step of the way.

We support these Volunteer Angels, experts in the situation of local women, as they grow into confident women who bring into their lives.

Long-term change takes time. We stand by our partners and communities by supporting them and staying through the years-long process of educating, nurturing and empowerment. These efforts include support and working with teens, mothers and newborns.

Lasting change starts with the people who live there. Our program supports the women, teens and newborns in the area. Together with them and other local partners, we invest , through love and care into these women- encouraging them- “they can do it” .

With local hospitals, we help them develop an organization that meets the needs of the women we see. Our volunteers provides support to local areas.
