Mowbray Maternity
A leading specialised maternity facility in Cape Town, Mowbray Maternity Hospital plays a vital role in providing high-quality maternal and neonatal care. Serving communities across the Cape Flats, including Mitchells Plain, Hanover Park, and Retreat, the hospital is a cornerstone of maternal health in these underserved areas.
While the Zoe Project operates independently, our partnership with Mowbray Maternity Hospital is key to ensuring that women in these communities receive the care they need during pregnancy and childbirth. Together, we’re bridging gaps in access to healthcare and creating pathways for healthier futures.
Here’s how we collaborate to make a difference:
Referrals for Specialised Care - When women in our programs face high-risk pregnancies or complex delivery needs, The Zoe Project refers them to Mowbray Maternity Hospital for expert medical attention, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Community Outreach - Partnering with the hospital, we conduct outreach programs to educate women about maternal health, empowering them to seek timely medical care and make informed decisions about their well-being.
Postnatal Support - After delivery, we step in to provide new mothers with essential postnatal support and counselling, helping them navigate the joys and challenges of motherhood while promoting the health of their newborns.
This collaboration is about more than just healthcare—it’s about creating a safety net for women and their babies. By combining the hospital’s specialised expertise with our community-focused initiatives, we’re working to improve maternal and child health outcomes across the Cape Flats. Together, we’re ensuring that every mother and child has the opportunity to thrive.
